Program Eligibility

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) is a program designed to assist individuals with physical or mental disabilities in finding and maintaining employment. You may qualify for VR services if your disability affects your job search or if you need support in securing or keeping a job. If you receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and aim to become employed, you are generally presumed eligible for these services.

When you start with VR, you’ll be assigned a VR counselor who will work with you to identify the barriers you face in employment and explore your job interests. The goal is to help you find fulfilling work that suits your skills and comfort level.

From these discussions, an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE) is created. This plan guides both your VR counselor and your chosen Employment Service Provider in your job search.

Once you select an Employment Service Provider, like The Vocation Depot, they will assign an Employment Specialist to assist you. This specialist will help you with resume writing, job searches, applications, interview preparation, and ongoing support to ensure you thrive in your new role."
